Flew into Boston, rented a car, and headed up north to Maine. Stopped in a little place called Salem, where the infamous Salem Witch Trials took place. Spent a lot of time wandering around looking at some of the graves and recognized many names from “The Crucible”, and also noticed that this town was more kitschy than anything, really commercializing on the whole witch thing. It was like visiting a very dark Wisconsin Dells. Boston was cool, but I only spent less then a day there, before I had to catch my flight out. I imagine Boston would be a great city to spend at least a few days in to get the whole experience. Maine is a whole different story. Lobster rolls, and every small town smells of fish. Everything is whole and maritime and would love to reside there in my retirement, if that is a real thing for someone my age now-a-days. I went on a whale watching tour… I saw nothing. worst 5 hours of my life.
